Biography

 
2008: Giunta played in every game for the second straight year and posted career-high totals in ground balls and caused turnovers. He recorded two goals and three points in the Empire 8 playoff win over St. John Fisher, matching career highs in both categories. Giunta scored one goal and assisted on another in the conference final to help Ithaca beat RIT. He picked up a career-best four ground balls in the season-opening win at Lycoming. His goal against Williams in the NCAA playoffs capped the 15-1 run the Bombers used to rally for the win. Giunta was named to the Empire 8 Presidents’ List following the fall semester.

2007: Giunta appeared in all 20 of Ithaca’s games in 2007, recording six goals. He scored his first career game-winning goal in Ithaca’s victory over Utica and recorded his second career multi-goal game with two scores against Elmira. Giunta scored a goal and added an assist against Hartwick and also scored a goal in the NCAA quarterfinals against Gettysburg.

2006: Giunta appeared in 16 of the Bombers’ 17 games as a freshman, scoring eight goals with eight assists for 16 points. He also had 14 ground balls and two caused turnovers. Giunta registered a point in 10 games and notched a career-best three points in wins over Elmira (one goal, two assists) and in the ECAC playoffs against St. John Fisher (two goals, one assist). His two goals against the Cardinals was a season-high. He recorded a season-best two assists against Rensselaer and the Soaring Eagles. Giunta scored his first career goal in Ithaca’s season-opening win at Lycoming.
 

Career Stats


High School: A 2005 graduate of Henderson High School, Giunta was coached by Paul Stankewitz. Giunta received All-Suburban League and All-Area honors and was named a Pennsylvania Senior All-Star. He was also a member of the soccer and cross country teams.

Personal: The son of Donald and Mary Frances Giunta, he is a physical therapy major.
