Ithaca College Athletics

2007: Bencosme earned his second letter. His five special teams tackles ranked among the team leaders. Bencosme made two tackles in the season-opening victory at Lycoming. He made his first career interception in the win against Utica, picking off a pass in the end zone on the Pioneers’ final play.

2006: Bencosme played in all but one game as a reserve defensive back and one of Ithaca’s special teams stalwarts. His six tackles in kick coverage ranked second on the team. He made his first career start at St. John Fisher and finished with two tackles and a fumble recovery. Bencosme collected three tackles in the Buffalo State win and matched that total in victories over Hartwick, Utica and #14 Springfield. In the Springfield win he recorded his first career tackle for loss and pass break-up.

High School: A 2006 graduate of Sleepy Hollow High School, Bencosme was coached by Steve Boryse. He earned all-league and all-section accolades. Bencosme also lettered in wrestling and lacrosse.
 
Personal: A health and physical education major, he is the son of Tara Guzman. His brother Dennis is a sophomore at Ithaca.
