Biography
2004-05: Whetstone played in all 27 games with 26 starting assignments. He led the team with 96 assists. Whetstone ranked fourth on the team with 165 points and second with 137 rebounds. He tied for a team-high 55 offensive rebounds and 48 steals. Against Division I opponent Cornell, Whetstone matched a career-high with 15 points. He grabbed a career-best 12 rebounds in a victory over Hartwick. He recorded a season-high nine assists and matched a career-high five steals against RIT. Whetstone registered his first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds against Alfred.
2003-04: Whetstone played in all 26 games, including 16 starts. He led the team with 111 assists, averaging 4.3 per game. Whetstone scored 104 points and grabbed 95 rebounds. He scored a career-high 15 against St. John Fisher, shooting 3-of-3 from three-point range. He had a team-high 10 assists against RIT and a career-high eight rebounds in a win at Alfred.
2002-03: Whetstone played in 11 games. He scored 19 points and grabbed 24 rebounds. He scored a career-high five points in a win at Oneonta.
High School: At Palo Alto Senior High School Whetstone played for coach Peter Diepen Brock. A three-year letter winner, he was a two-time first-team all-league selection as a junior and senior and an honorable-mention selection as a sophomore. On the county level he was an honorable-mention selection as a junior and a third-team selection as a senior.
Personal: The son of Richard Whetstone and Gretchen Wehrle, he is a television-radio major.
