Biography

2007: A second-year starter, Czerno earned honorable mention to the Empire 8 all-star team. He was one of the team’s most improved hitters, raising both his slugging percentage and on-base percentage over 90 points. He ranked third on the team in RBI’s and batted .353 against conference opponents. Czerno recorded seven multi-hit games, including two in the NCAA playoffs. He drove in a career-best four runs against Westfield State in the NCAA opener. He hit his first career home run in the season-opener at La Verne. Czerno drove in five runs and scored three more in a doubleheader at Manhattanville.
 
2006: Czerno started a team-best 24 games at second base (the Bombers won 20 of his starts). He opened the season with a two-for-three showing at Redlands. Czerno recorded career-best totals of three hits and three runs in a win over St. John Fisher. He doubled ad drove in two runs in a victory over Utica. He made just one error over the season’s final 21 games.
 
2005: Czerno recorded back-to-back multi-hit games in May against RIT and Montclair State, going a combined 4-for-8 with three RBIs, two runs and a double. Against Cazenovia Czerno was hit by a school-record three pitches, doubled and scored three runs.

High School: A 2004 graduate of Columbia High School, Czerno was coached by his father, George Czerno. He was a second-team all-state selection and was named tournament MVP as Columbia won the state title.

Personal: A sport management major, he is the son of George Czerno and Lorraine Czerno.
