Biography

2007: Brown recorded the lowest ERA of any Bomber starter and posted a strikeout: walk ratio of better than 2:1. He threw three complete games, blanking #20 Brockport on two hits for his first career shutout and beating St. John Fisher twice – once on a four-hitter in the regular-season and once on a nine-inning, four-hit effort in the NCAA playoffs. Brown allowed only one walk and an unearned run in the NCAA playoff win. He fanned a season-best six in six innings of a win at Utica. He won five of his last six decisions and allowed just 49 baserunners in his last 49 innings. He was named Empire 8 Pitcher of the Week and earned a spot on the NCBWA’s Weekly Honor Roll after shutting out Brockport.
 
2006: Brown led Ithaca’s freshmen with five wins and 32 strikeouts. He earned a win in his second varsity appearance, throwing 2.1 perfect innings of relief at Occidental. Brown recorded his first career complete-game shutout against Rochester, earning the win with seven innings of three-hit ball. That win was part of a season-ending three-game winning streak. He struck out a season-best six in a win at Hartwick and fanned five in a 3.2-inning relief stint against Pomona-Pitzer.

High School: A 2005 graduate of Greece Athena High School, Brown was coached by Jason Bunting. He was an all-county selection and served as team captain.

Personal: A sport studies major, he is the son of Richard and Michelle Brown.
