Biography
2007: Bobzien earned first-team all-Empire 8 honors in his junior season. He started all 20 games for the Bombers, setting career-bests with 25 goals and a team-leading 27 assists for 52 points. He also picked up a career-high 25 ground balls. Bobzien opened the season with four goals and two assists in Ithaca’s win over Lycoming. He later set a career-high with seven points with a four-goal, three-assist performance against Hamilton. Bobzien recorded a career-best five assists in Ithaca’s victory at FDU-Florham and handed out four assists in Ithaca’s NCAA Tournament win over Cabrini. Bobzien was named to the Empire 8 Presidents’ List following the spring semester.
2006: Bobzien started 16 of his 17 games played as a sophomore and scored 18 goals with a career-high 14 assists for a career-best 32 points. His 23 ground balls were also a career high. Bobzien registered at least one point in 15 games and notched a career-high four assists in a win over Hartwick. He also registered a season-high four points against RIT in the Empire 8 title game and in a win over St. John Fisher in the ECAC playoffs, scoring two goals with two assists in both games. Bobzien scored a season-high three goals in a win at Alfred and against Nazareth in the ECAC title game.
2005: Bobzien, who played in all 14 games with 13 starting assignments, finished fifth on the team with 25 points on 18 goals and seven assists. He scored two goals in his first collegiate game against Messiah. Bobzien scored a career-high four goals and five points in a victory over 15th-ranked Hartwick and recorded four points on three goals and one assist against RIT. He assisted on a career-high two goals against Empire 8 foe Nazareth. Bobzien was named to the Empire 8 Presidents’ List following the fall and spring semesters.
High School: Bobzien played for coaches Brian Perry and Brian Langtry at Arapahoe High School. A team captain for two seasons, he was a first-team all-state selection both seasons. He was named Continental League MVP his junior year and was an academic all-American his senior season. Bobzien’s team won the conference championship and was the state runner-up his senior season.
Personal: A business administration major, he is the son of John and Marysue Bobzien.
