Biography

2004: Canestrari played in every game, making one start. He caught a pair of passes in the season-opening win over Buffalo State and a week later made a season-best three receptions – including his first career touchdown – in the Hartwick victory. Canestrari also caught two passes in the win against Utica. He was named the team’s Hustler of the Week after the St. John Fisher game.

2003: Canestrari played in every game and was the team’s fifth-leading receiver. His 15.0 yards per catch ranked second among Bomber wideouts. He caught a career-best four passes against Rensselaer in the NCAA quarterfinals. Canestrari recorded three receptions apiece in wins against St. John Fisher and Utica, posting a career-best 56 receiving yards against the Pioneers. Canestrari was named the team’s Hustler of the Week after the Hobart win and made his first career start a week later against Buffalo State.

2002: Canestrari played on Ithaca’s junior varsity team.

High School: At Randolph High School, Canestrari was coached by Joe Lusardi.

Personal: A business administration major, he is the son of Richard and Kathleen Hugg. He is an Empire 8 all-star on Ithaca’s NCAA playoff baseball team, playing first base and the outfield.
