Biography

2006: Lavoie won three games and only two Bombers made more starts.  He turned in one of the season’s top performances, earning the win in Ithaca’s come-from-behind victory over Rensselaer in the NCAA playoffs. Lavoie retired 16 of 17 batters (issuing an intentional walk) on 51 pitches, striking out three. He beat Gettysburg in a 4.1-inning stint, allowing three hits and no earned runs. He pitched five innings of one-hit shutout ball to beat Utica, striking out a season-high five.

2005: Lavoie’s 5.05 ERA was third among Ithaca’s starters. His best start of the year came in the playoffs – a nine-inning complete game that eliminated Skidmore. Lavoie allowed only two runs and struck out three, earning a spot on the all-tournament team.

2004: Lavoie was third on the team with 44 innings pitched and 29 strikeouts, and tied for third with four wins. In a 17-0 win over conference opponent Utica Lavoie threw four scoreless innings, striking out six and allowing only one hit. In a game against 13th-ranked Cortland he went three innings, striking out four and allowing one run.

High School: A 2003 graduate of Moses Brown High School, Lavoie was coached by Kevin Matson.

Personal: A sports information and communication major, he is the son of Raymond and June Lavoie.
