Ithaca College Athletics

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College women's soccer team continued their dominance in their out-of-conference schedule on Saturday with a 1-0 road victory at Nazareth University. The Bombers are now off to a 4-0 start, outscoring their opponents 9-2 as they continue to gear up for Liberty League competition.
 
The Bombers were led by senior forward Jayne Bogle. Bogle had the Bombers' lone goal of the afternoon, coming at the 74:19 mark. Bogle took a pass from senior forward Lilyana Baldi and found the back of the net. This was Bogle's second goal of the season, she leads the Bombers with a total of six points. 
 
Another key contributor for the Bombers was goalkeeper Katrina Varnum. The junior keeper had a career-high five saves, keeping Nazareth off the scoreboard in a close contest that gave the Bombers limited room for error. Varnum already has one Liberty League Honor Roll award this fall from the week of September 8 as she continues to be a positive factor for the undefeated South Hill Squad. 
 
The Bombers and the Golden Flyers played a nearly even matchup outside of Bogle's goal. IC narrowly outshot Nazareth 11-10, 6-5 on shots on net. 
 
With today's victory, the Bombers improved to 24-9-14 all-time against the Golden Flyers. 
 
The Bombers will return to Ithaca to begin a six-game homestand starting with a matchup with the University of Scranton on Wednesday September 16 at 4 p.m. at Carp Wood Field. The Bombers will be looking to avenge the 1-0 defeat they suffered against the Royals on September 17 last fall.
