CANTON, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team was on the road on Saturday and fought back to takedown the St. Lawrence Saints by a final score of 4-3. Despite dropping the doubles point, Ithaca would win four of the six singles matchups and now improve to 7-5 overall and 2-1 in Liberty League play.
Each doubles matchup was uber competitive with IC dropping the first and third matchups by a set score of 6-4 and the pair of
Luis Crespo and
Ean Lantzy battled to a 7-6 (7-5) defeat at No. 2.
Crespo would help set the tone early in singles play as he defeated Armaan Walia by set scores of 6-3 and 7-5, while
Carlos Hernandez built off that by defeating Charles Schepens at No. 4 by scores of 6-2 and 6-0.
Alex Mazza would also win at No. 5, taking down Ryan Tingley 6-3, 6-3 and the match was clinched when
Gijs Fidler defeated Jake David.
Fidler won the match at No. 2 by set scores of 6-4 and 6-3.
Ivan Kisic had a tough matchup to Josh David in the top spot falling, 7-5 and 7-6 (10-8).
The Bombers will continue Liberty League play hosting RIT on Wednesday, April 15 at 4 p.m.
