RESULTS
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Ithaca College gymnastics team closed out the 2026 season on a high note as the Bombers posted a score of 191.300 at the NCGA East Region Championship hosted by Rhode Island College on Saturday. Ithaca finished fifth out of seven schools with its second-best performance of the season.
Brockport won the regional championship with 193.675 and Cortland finished as the runner-up with 193.000 to earn bids to the upcoming NCGA Championship in Cortland on March 20. RIC took third with 192.200 and Ursinus was fourth at 191.700. Utica placed sixth with 189.100 and Springfield was seventh at 189.050.
Following the meet,
Grace Murray was named NCGA East Region Gymnast of the Year as she led all of Division III in SAS on floor with 9.850 and was sixth on vault at 9.7438.
The Bombers were solid throughout the entire meet with 16 scores over 9.500.
IC's best rotation of the competition came on floor with 48.600.
Jillian Freyman posted the best score for the Bombers with a 9.800, which tied for second in the regional. Murray and
Corey Foster were both awarded 9.750, while
Sh'Nai Thompson received 9.675.
Taylor Arias rounded out the top five with 9.625, while
Lucy Kaupp scored 9.500.
The Bombers also scored over 48 on beam with 48.100 as
Mya John was the top performer at 9.725.
Emili Horike and
Emily Kobusky both turned in 9.700 and
Sienna Blake was shown 9.600.
Camden Contakos put together a solid routine of 9.425 and
Leanne Desjardins scored 9.350.
On vault, IC accumulated 47.475 with Murray as the top score at 9.775, which was second at the regional.
Natalie Steed earned 9.600, while
Lauren Babineaux landed with 9.525. Thompson earned 9.350 and John received a scored 9.225.
Ithaca turned its best bars routine of the season and finished the event with 47.075. Babineaux was the top performer at 9.650 and
Olivia Lane scored 9.550. John was close behind with 9.500, while Blake earned 9.200 and Kaupp started things off with 9.175.
The NCGA will announce its qualifying teams and individual competitors over the next week.
