Men’s Lacrosse Posts Fifth-Straight Win, Downs SUNY Brockport 14–2

SPARKS, Md. – The Ithaca College men's lacrosse team earned its fifth consecutive victory Tuesday afternoon, cruising to a 14-2 win over SUNY Brockport at USA Lacrosse Headquarters.

Ithaca jumped out to a 4-0 lead early in the opening quarter. Tim Rogers opened the scoring after receiving a feed from Lucas Proctor in front of the cage. The Bombers then struck twice in a seven-second span, as Ethan Adrid scored with 2:02 remaining in the period before Liam Alberti won the ensuing faceoff and set up another Rogers goal via an assist from Brendan Occhino.

Proctor extended Ithaca's advantage 45 seconds into the second quarter with an unassisted goal, off a feed from Adrid. Brockport got on the board less than two minutes later when Hunter Riehlman found the back of the net, but the Bombers responded with a 3-0 run to take an 8-1 lead into halftime.

The Bombers outscored the Golden Eagles 6-1 in the second half, including a 3-0 advantage in the fourth quarter. Brendan Occhino scored twice in the third quarter, highlighted by a man-up goal assisted by Will Kleine. Danny Loss notched his second goal of the day midway through the fourth quarter, and Joey Smith capped the scoring with his first collegiate goal off an assist from Nathan Sabol.

Andrew Minard earned the win in goal, recording seven saves. Occhino registered his third straight hat trick and led Ithaca with four points, while Rogers also finished with four points on two goals and two assists. Liam Alberti was once again effective in the faceoff X winning 16-of-19.

With the win, Ithaca College improved to 5-2 overall and will open up Liberty League conference play on Saturday with a road matchup at (RV) Clarkson University. Game time is slated for 12 p.m.
