Ithaca Men’s Tennis Go Back and Forth with Stevens

EDGEWATER, N.J. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team battled Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday evening on the backend of a back-to-back and dropped a 5-2 result to the Ducks.
 
The Bombers began the match by earning the doubles point by recording victories at No. 2 and No. 3. The duo of Ean Lantzy and Luis Crespo had a tough matchup and prevailed 6-4, while Samuel Lopez-Cardenas and Ivan Kisic earned the win over Ian Batra and Tristan Wroe at 6-4.
 
Two of the six singles matchups would go into three sets with Ducks competitor winning each. Luis Crespo would fall at No. 4 singles to Tristan Wroe by set scores of 2-6, 5-7 and in the top flight, Ivan Kisic dropped a 0-6, 3-6 result to Max-William Kanz. Gijs Fidler was also tested at No. 2 dropping a 0-6, 6-7 (2-7) to Renat Kramin.
 
First year Alex Mazza recorded the lone other point for the Bombers at No. 6 singles taking down Johnny Haase, 6-4 and 6-1.
 
The loss was the first of the season for the Bombers who dropped to 2-1 overall and return to action in exactly one week when they travel to the University of Rochester on Feb. 21 at 2:30 p.m.
