RESULTS
ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College gymnastics team conclude its home schedule on Wednesday evening with a dual against Cortland and posted the program's best score of the season in a top-notch performance by both schools.
Cortland beat Ithaca, 192.800 to 191.350, but the Bombers set a new school record on floor with 48.950. IC was unable to overcome an all-around school record showing by the Red Dragons.
The Bombers opened competition with 47.425 on vault as
Grace Murray posted the top score on the evening with 9.700.
Madelynn Farragher received 9.475, while
Lauren Babineaux and
Sh'Nai Thompson each earned 9.450.
Mya John concluded the top five with 9.350.
IC turned in its best bars rotation of the season with 47.025 as Babineaux was stellar with 9.775 for a first place honor. John was close behind with 9.725 and
Desiree Abron brought into the rotation with a 9.400.
Lucy Kaupp started off the rotation with 9.375.
Ithaca moved over to beam and put together a solid rotation of 47.950.
Emily Kobusky was superb with 9.850, for her best showing of the year, while
Leanne Desjardins had her best performance in her early career with 9.700. Â
Emili Horike landed with 9.650 and John received 9.550, while
Corey Foster scored 9.200.
Jillian Freyman received 9.000, while
Sienna Blake and
Camden Contakos scored 9.550 and 9.100 in exhibition.
The floor rotation closed out the evening and topped the previous school mark by .025, which was set in 2024 against Cortland. Freyman received her career-best mark of 9.875, while Murray met her season average of 9.850. Thompson turned in a 9.825 performance and Kaupp earned 9.750. Farragher received 9.650 and
Taylor Arias posted a score of 9.500. Foster and Contakos competed in exhibitions with scores of 9.550 and 9.525.
Ithaca heads to Cortland on Saturday for the Empire State Championships.
