ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's and women's track & field team hosted its annual Bomber Invitational over the weekend and paid tribute to the 17 senior student-athletes on this year's programs prior to Saturday's competition.
For the women,
Rachel Larson dominated the 60-meter dash as her prelim time of 8.60 seconds was nearly .7 faster than the next qualifier and her first place finals time of 8.58 seconds matched her season best.
Lily Seyfert won the shot put and improved upon her best mark of the year with a heave of 13.86 meters. Seyfert also placed third in the weight throw at 15.44 meters.
Madeleine Wright won the high jump by total attempts as she cleared 1.62 meters and
Celia Ryan was fourth at 1.54 meters.
Lola Gitlin was another first place performer as she won the 5000-meter run in 18:07.47.
Eliana Barnett prevailed in the triple jump with a mark of 10.94 meters and
Alexis Brown came in fourth at 10.75 meters.
The Bombers took two of the top four spots in the 4x400-meter relay as the 'A' team of
Violet Sloan,
Anisah Edgehill-Geter,
Mackenzi Finley and
Valentina Wallin posted a winning time of 4:06.15. The 'B' relay of Larson,
Ava Butler,
Julia Ryba and
Kayleigh Milligan were fourth in 4:11.16.
Ithaca secured four top spots in the pole vault with
Erin Eastwood leading the way at 3.57 meters and
Talia Hutchinson was the runner-up at 3.47 meters. Tegan Kiger and
Raessler Guthrie tied for fourth at 3.32 meters.
Wallin was the runner-up in the 400-meter dash in 59.57 seconds.
IC's 4x200-meter relay of
Claudia Chong,
Anneliese Hubbard,
Grace Croft and
Simone Eidex placed third with a time of 1:50.18.
Marykate Rudnicki took fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.06 seconds, while Sloan was another fourth place performer in the 800-meter run as she finished in 2:26.87. Milligan was another fourth place honoree for the Bombers as she clocked a time of 5:16.11 in the mile and
Hannah Pawlowski was fourth at 18:22.37 in the 5K.
Cameron Ting and
Cecelia LaBonte competed in the pentathlon and finished in fourth and fifth place with totals of 3199 and 3139.
On the men's side,
Quinten Lewis was the lone first place performer as he handily won the triple jump with a mark of 13.91 meters.
Three Bombers finished within the top five in the pole vault as
Raphael Campanile led the way in third at 4.30 meters.
Dylan Sullivan was fourth at 4.15 meters and
Blake Kinnaird was fifth with a clearance of 4.00 meters.
Elliott Painting took third in the 5000-meter run in 15:16.22, while
Griffin Lupes was fifth at 15:55.21 and
Toag Wolf was eighth with a time of 16:02.78.
Anik Vossschulte was third overall in the 200-meter dash in 22.47 seconds.
Matt Lokshin took fourth in the heptathlon with 4539 points.
Alex Boreland placed sixth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.06 seconds and
Damian Simmonds second seventh in the 400-meter dash at 50.73 seconds.
IC's 4x400-meter relay of Simmonds,
George Nilson,
Evan Cherry and
Aidan Loughlin were sixth overall in 3:29.30.
Luke Ellor placed seventh in the shot put with a mark of 14.29 meters and Loughlin posted a time of 2:00.64 in the 800-meter run to finish in eighth overall.
Ithaca hosts its final indoor meet of the season next Saturday, February 7 for a tri-meet against Rochester and Brockport.
