RESULTS
ITHACA, N.Y. – After inclement weather canceled two different opportunities for the Ithaca College gymnastics to compete last weekend, the Bombers returned to action on Sunday for a home tri-meet inside Ben Light Gymnasium against Springfield College and Rhode Island College. Ithaca scored 189.575 to win the meet, with RIC earning 187.900 and Springfield finished the day with 186.800.
The Bombers were consistent throughout the entire meet and posted 14 top four finishes, including four first place showings and swept the top three on vault, bars and beam.
IC scored 47.450 on vault to open the meet as
Natalie Steed posted the top score of the day with 9.550.
Grace Murray and
Lauren Babineaux matched each other with 9.525, while
Mya John earned 9.475.
Madelynn Farragher and
Sh'Nai Thompson were awarded scores of 9.375 and 9.325.
It was a slow start on bars, but the final four routines turned things around for the Bombers as Babineaux landed with a 9.675 and John earned 9.600.
Olivia Lane turned in her best performance of the season with 9.575, while
Sienna Blake scored 9.300. The Bombers totaled 46.350.
The Bombers then moved to beam after a bye in the six-rotation format and scored 47.375 as
Emili Horike,
Corey Foster and
Jillian Freyman all received 9.750.
Emily Kobusky was close behind at 9.725 and
Taylor Arias received 9.350 in an exhibition.
IC closed out the meet in stellar fashion on floor with 48.400 as all seven gymnasts turned in routines over 9.450. Murray was nearly perfect with 9.850, while Freyman turned in a 9.750 and
Lucy Kaupp received 9.650. Farragher and Thompson both earned 9.575 and Arias was awarded 9.525.
Hana Miller competed as an exhibition and earned 9.450.
The Bombers are back at home next Sunday, February 8 for Senior Day against Brockport and Cortland.
