CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's wrestling team participated in the Armbar, hosted by Journeymen Wrestling on Sunday afternoon and narrowly fell 17-15 to No. 14 Vermont State University Castleton. The Spartans rallied by winning each of the three final bouts to take the dual by just two team points.

After dropping the opening bout at 125 lbs., the Bombers answered with No. 14
Jay McDonnell claiming a 4-2 decision over Stone Farnsworth that was then followed by No. 11
Isaias Torres picking up a tough 7-4 decision with a late takedown over Nicolas Balella. The Bombers would then go up 12-4 with a 5-0 decision from
Will Bentrim and a technical 3-1 victory that was recorded at 157 by
Akio Sanders.
Jashon Holmes halted the momentum, giving the Spartans four more points with a 14-3 major decision win at 165 pounds over
Brian Bienus.
Konrad Parker would claim the final win of the day as he put together an 11-6 major victory over Joseph Baker. In a winner-take-all-matchup, Keonta Crawford sealed the dual win for Castleton as he scored a takedown with 18 seconds remaining and added an escape point to secure a 5-3 decision, clinching the 17-15 victory for the Spartans.
Next up, Ithaca College will participate in the Budd Whitehill National Duals at Lycoming College from Friday, January 9-10 in the Keiper Recreation Center.
