2025-26: Went 22-12 through his sophomore season…Collected nine falls…Opened the season with a second-place finish at the Ithaca Invitational, dropping a 6-0 decision to Castleton’s Nate Camiscioli…On Jan. 4 he got Camiscioli on his home turf, claiming a 3-1 decision…Finished seventh at the NCAA DIII Regionals with a medical forfeit over David M’Balla…Named NWCA Scholar All-American.

High School: During his high school career as a Bulldog, Akio was a three-time state qualifier. He also was a state placer during his senior season where he also was a national qualifier. 

Personal: A Clinical Health Studies major, Akio is the son of Shon and Misti Sanders.
