Men’s Basketball Hits 18 3-Pointers in 116-62 Rout of Bard

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's basketball team produced one of the most dominant games in program history as Ithaca defeated Bard, 116-62, on Saturday afternoon inside Ben Light Gymnasium. The Bombers are now 5-10 on the season and 4-4 in the Liberty League.

The 54-point margin of victory is the second-most in the near-100 years of IC basketball. The program record is 69 points set in 1967 when the Bombers defeated Utica, 122-53. IC also posted the best overall shooting percentage (58.6% - 41-for-75) and the highest 3-point percentage (52.9% - 18-for-34) since 2021 when the Bombers posted a school record 124 points against Alfred State.

All 14 players who saw time on the floor scored at least one point and grabbed at least one rebound. Matthew Zenker led the offense with 16 points on a perfect 8-of-8 shooting, to go along with five assists.

Chris Leysath tallied 14 points and four rebounds, while Thomas McKiernan netted a career-high 13 points and seven assists. Evan Cabral also reached double digits in scoring with 12, as did Alex Penders with 10. Jaylon O'Neal and Tylar Okai-Koi each added nine points for the Bombers.

The Bombers led start-to-finish as they jumped out to a 33-7 advantage over the opening nine minutes of the game and Bard was never able to get back to within 24 for the remainder of the contest. IC's largest lead of the matchup was 59 (107-48) with 5:39 left in regulation.

Ithaca heads to the North Country next weekend to play against Clarkson and St. Lawrence.
