No. 19 Men’s Soccer Drop Non-Conference Result

CLINTON, N.Y. – On Tuesday, September 30, the No. 19 ranked Ithaca College men's soccer team traveled to Hamilton College, where they fell 2–0 at Love Field. Ithaca struggled to generate consistent offensive pressure, managing just seven total shots (two on goal) compared to Hamilton's 25. The Bombers' best chances came in the second half, with Nathan Waychoff and Jack Nelson each forcing saves from Hamilton goalkeeper Tobin Walsh.

Despite the result, the Bombers delivered a strong defensive effort and mounted a late offensive push that ultimately came up short. Goalkeeper Bryson Shaull anchored the defense with eight saves, keeping Ithaca within reach and preventing Hamilton from pulling away early amid relentless pressure.

Offensively, Ithaca's starters were limited to just one shot in the first half. The momentum shifted after halftime with the introduction of substitutes. Waycoff injected energy into the attack, pressing Hamilton's back line and forcing a save in the 53rd minute. Nelson followed with a dangerous effort in the 75th, while Joshua Bourdoulous added two attempts, including a late strike that was blocked. Kloden Rapp also contributed during Ithaca's most aggressive stretch, combining for two shots off the bench.

Hamilton broke through in the 24th minute and added a second goal just past the hour mark. Despite being under siege for long stretches, Ithaca's defense forced several blocked shots and created opportunities to counter.

In the end, Ithaca's late surge showed promise, but the lack of early offensive rhythm and Hamilton's control of possession proved decisive. Shaull's goalkeeping and the spark from the Bombers' substitutes were bright spots in an otherwise difficult road loss.

With the result, Ithaca's record drops to 6-1-2. The Bombers return to action on Saturday, October 4 with game time slated for 2 p.m.
