ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team reeled off its second win of the weekend, this time defeating St. Lawrence 6-1 inside Glazer Arena on Sunday afternoon. The Bombers improved to 5-6 overall and both 3-1 at home and within Liberty League action.
In doubles play, Ithaca was able to take the team point by winning two out of the three matchups. The IC wins came at No. 2 doubles with
Ivan Kisic and
Siddharth Vaada recording a 6-3 over Broderick Pinto and Jake David. That win was followed by
Ean Lantzy and
Luis Crespo teaming for a 6-1 victory in the No. 3 flight.
Gijs Fidler dropped a tough 6-7, 6-3, 1-0 (11-9) match in the No. 1 slot to St. Lawrence's Evin Strandberg. Momentum would swing back in the Bombers favor with back-to-back wins recorded by
Siddharth Vaada (6-4, 7-6 (7-1) and
Ivan Kisic would then defeat John Hill-Edgar by set scores of 6-2, 6-4 (7-1). Next up,
Luis Crespo scored a 7-6, 6-3 win over Jake David and
Emiliano Pedrero would win a three setter, 6-1, 5-7, 1-0 (10-6).
Siddharth Desai would then get tested in three sets and would prevail over Aidan Baracao, 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 (10-3).
Ithaca College will return to action with a road match in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. against Vassar College at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 12.
