ITHACA, N.Y. – On the final match of the regular season, the Ithaca College women's tennis team successfully defeated William Smith, 6-1, which secured the Bombers the No. 6 seed in the upcoming Liberty League Championship tournament. With Sunday's win, Ithaca improved to 6-11 overall and 2-6 within conference action while William Smith finishes the 2024-25 season with an 8-11 overall record and 2-6 mark in Liberty League action.
 
Prior to Sunday's match, Ithaca College honored its senior class of 
Taylor Crain, 
Lauren Rodriguez and 
Eliana Chelnick for their hard work and dedication over their respective collegiate careers. The Bombers went up 1-0 after sweeping doubles play. In the No. 1 flight, 
Taylor Crain and 
Sabrina Cheung teamed for the 6-4 win while 
Alys Pop and 
Eliana Chelnick earned the 6-2 win at No. 2. 
Lauren Rodriguez and 
Madeleine Sutro rounded things out as they defeated the duo of Julia Pida and Mae Kellersman.
 
The Bombers continued to roll with 
Taylor Crain earning the 6-2, 6-2 win over Natalie Haythorn. That was followed by 
Alys Pop defeating Haley Levine (7-6, 7-6) and 
Madeleine Sutro taking down Marin Montagne at No. 5 singles (6-2, 6-2). The final IC wins were tallied by both 
Sabrina Cheung and 
Lauren Rodriguez who both came out on the winning end of three set thrillers.
 
As the No. 6 seed, Ithaca will take on No. 3 seeded RPI in a first round matchup that is slated for Friday, May 2 at 11:30 a.m.
