ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team wrapped up the 2024-25 regular season on Sunday afternoon in a matchup against Hobart. The Statesmen were able to come out with a 4-3 win inside Reis Tennis Center. The loss drops Ithaca to 6-9 overall and 4-4 within the Liberty League as the Bombers clinched the No. 6 seed in the upcoming Liberty League Championship tournament.
Hobart got off to a strong start as they swept doubles to take the 1-0 lead. The Bombers would fight back seeing consecutive victories come at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 singles.
Ivan Kisic took down Nick Grosso by set scores of 6-4 and 6-3. That was followed by
Luis Crespo who won at No. 4 over Rahul Vallabhajosula (6-3, 5-4).
Emiliano Pedrero would come out on top in his three setter, taking down Jacob Linares 4-6, 6-2 and 7-6. Both
Ean Lantzy,
Siddharth Vaada and
Gijs Fidler were unsuccessful as each took their opponent to the decisive third set.
As the No. 6 seed, Ithaca will take on the No. 3 seeded RIT Tigers in a first round matchup that is slated for Friday, May 2 at 5 p.m.
