ITHACA, N.Y. – The nationally ranked No. 21 Ithaca College women's lacrosse hosted Hamilton College in a non-conference matchup at Higgins Stadium on Tuesday evening and the Bombers wound up on the wrong end of a 17-11 decision. Ithaca heads into its final game of the regular season with a 9-6 overall record.
Hamilton led right from the start of the game and raced out to a 9-2 lead by intermission. That lead grew to 13-2 more than halfway through the third period, which was far too much for the Bombers to overcome.
IC would, however, attempt to make a comeback and pulled to within 13-7 early in the fourth before the Continentals pushed the spread back out to nine goals, 17-8, with just over four minutes to go in the contest. The Bombers tallied the final three goals to account for the 17-11 outcome.
Lily Cody led IC with four points on three goals and one assist, while
Lexi Kellish and
Kelly Augeri each tallied two goals. Kellish also recorded a team-best six draws.
Mikaela Datillo recorded a career-best 20 saves in cage for the Bombers.
IC concludes its regular season on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Skidmore for Senior Day.
