SCRANTON, Pa. – The nationally ranked No. 11 Ithaca College women's lacrosse team lost its first game of the 2025 season, 12-10, at the University of Scranton on Sunday. Scranton picks up its first win of the season after starting the year 0-4.
The Bombers fell behind, 2-0, early in the first quarter, but scored the next five goals over the next 10-plus minutes to build a 5-2 advantage with 10 minutes to go in the first half.
Lexi Kellish scored twice, while
Lily Cody tallied a goal and assisted on the first Kellish goal.
Kelly Augeri and
Leigh Naturale also scored during the run.
Scranton ended its scoreless drought with two straight goals to make it 5-4 with five minutes to go, but Augeri and Cody answered with tallies of their own to put the Bombers back ahead by three at 7-4 with 1:29 to go. The Royals closed out the half with two goals in 45 seconds to account for the 7-6 halftime score in favor of IC.
Out of intermission,
Elizabeth Green and
Hayley Armstrong found the back of the next for another three-goal cushion at 9-6 with 10:11 remaining in the third quarter. Scranton then took control of the contest and rattled off six straight goals over the next 19 minutes to establish a 12-9 lead with less than four minutes left in the game.
IC would score the final goal at the 2:54 mark of the fourth quarter on another tally by Green, but that's all the Bombers could produce for the rest of the contest.
Mikaela Dattilo stopped nine shots in the loss.
Ithaca heads to Maryland for a Spring Break matchup with No. 12 Roanoke on March 12.
