ORLANDO, Fla. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team wrapped up play in Florida on Thursday evening as the Bombers battled a tough Rhodes College squad. The Lynx were able to earn the 5-2 win over Ithaca as the Bombers dropped to 2-3 overall while Rhodes improved to 7-3.
The Bombers were able to take two of the three doubles matchups to earn the doubles point including a tight 7-6 (11-9) victory in No. 1 play that was earned by
Siddharth Desai and
Gijs Fidler. The other win occurred at No. 3 doubles where
Ean Lantzy and
Luis Crespo teamed for the 7-5 victory.
Singles wins were harder to come by as the lone victory was scored in impressive fashion as
Emiliano Pedrero blanked Andrew Greaves winning 6-0, 6-0.
Gijs Fidler,
Ivan Kisic,
Luis Crespo and
Siddharth Desai each suffered three set losses.
Ithaca College will next open Liberty League action on Saturday, March 22 when they travel to RPI for a 6:30 p.m. start.
