ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to the visiting Skidmore Thoroughbreds on Sunday. The match proved to be both the home opener and the first match of the spring season for the Bombers.
 
In doubles action, the top IC pair of 
Taylor Crain and 
Alys Pop dropped a 6-1 game to the Thoroughbreds duo of Grace Truong and Konika Dhull. Skidmore's third doubles pairing was able to score the sweep and earn the doubles point with their 6-3 victory over 
Lauren Rodriguez and 
Madeleine Sutro.
 
A highly competitive matchup took place in No. 1 singles as Dhull won the first set over 
Taylor Crain who fought back in the second via tie breakers (7-5), which forced the third set. In the decisive set that also went the distance, Dhull earned the 10-8 set win. The Bombers picked up their lone point of the afternoon when 
Alys Pop defeated Grace Truong via a 5-3 set score.
 
Next up, Ithaca College will host Drew University at 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 15.
