ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team hosted the University of Rochester inside Glazer Arena in the Athletics & Events Center and the Yellowjackets squeaked out a tight 4-3 win over the Bombers. With this win, Rochester improved to 3-2 overall on the season while Bombers fell to 1-1.
The Bombers swept doubles action to pick up the team point as they gained the early 1-0 lead. The teams of
Siddharth Desai and
Gijs Fidler, and
Ivan Kisic and
Siddharth Vaada both won their respective sets 7-6 while the team of
Luis Crespo and
Ean Lantzy blanked their opponent winning it 6-0.
The Ithaca Bombers would go on to only win two of their singles matches that being
Gijs Fidler winning his match in two sets going 7-6 (12-10) and 6-4 at No. 1 singles. The other IC triumph was produced by
Siddharth Vaada winning his match in three sets going 7-5, 3-6, and 6-3.
Next up, the Bombers will go on their Spring Break trip where they will compete in three matches in Orlando, Florida at the USTA National Campus and will first take on Connecticut College on Monday, March 10 at 11:30 a.m.
