Women’s Swimming & Diving Edged in Road Dual at RPI

TROY, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's swimming & diving team hit the road for its first dual meet away from home in the 2025–26 season, taking on Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) on Saturday afternoon. In a tightly contested matchup at Robinson Pool, the Engineers narrowly held off the Bombers, 164–136.
 
Ithaca opened the meet with a strong performance in the 200-yard medley relay, as the team of Elizabeth Bodie, Sydney Koehler, Kathleen Papiernik, and Samantha Bender posted a winning time of 1:49.64.
 
Sydney Koehler continued her standout season in the breaststroke events, sweeping both the 100- and 200-yard events. She led a one-two finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching in 1:07.35—more than four seconds ahead of teammate Emma Kidd (1:11.47). Koehler followed that up with another victory in the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 2:29.13 ahead of Papiernik's second-place time of 2:32.86.
 
Naomi Fry added another individual win for the Bombers in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in 5:22.88, which was nearly six seconds clear of the runner-up from RPI.
 
On the diving boards, Eliza Salus delivered a strong performance for Ithaca, earning a second-place finish in the 3-meter event with a finals score of 238.75. RPI's Ella Simpson claimed the top spot with a score of 248.70 and went on to sweep both boards, also winning the 1-meter with a mark of 247.65. Emily Provost added another runner-up finish for the Bombers on the 1-meter board, posting a score of 234.05 in the finals.
