First year
Trevor Barrett made a statement with his first collegiate goal, a long-range strike from over 30-yards out that dipped and found the top-left corner past the Saints' keeper. With two minutes left in the half, Shaull made a diving save to preserve a 1–1 tie heading into halftime.
The second half kicked off with both teams eager to capitalize in this Liberty League matchup. St. Lawrence was awarded a free kick just outside the box, which they converted with a low shot to the right corner to take a 2–1 lead. The goal was scored at the 51:59 mark and was netted off the right boot of Nicholas Petrone.
Ithaca pushed for an equalizer with plenty of time remaining. Shaull came up big again with a save and clear on a Saints strike. Midway through the half, the Bombers earned a corner kick, but the Saints defense held strong. Another corner opportunity led to a flurry of headers in the box, ultimately resulting in a goal kick.
As time wound down, the Bombers continued to press into their offensive zone. A final corner kick with 1:30 left gave Ithaca one last chance, but they couldn't find the back of the net.
Jack Longo saw his shot attempt saved by Zach Amato.
With the loss, Ithaca now stands at 6-5-2 overall and 0-4-1 in conference play. They return to action on Saturday, October 18, at Union College for another Liberty League matchup, with kickoff set for 2 p.m.
