ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's tennis team wrapped up its fall slate on Saturday in triumphant fashion as the Bombers downed the visiting Daemen University Wildcats on Saturday, 5-2.
The No. 1 doubles and No. 2 doubles matches were tight, but the Bombers pulled away with the No. 1 pair of
Ava Casell-Lapetina and
Aenessa Rylski prevailing 6-4 followed by
Martina Nicora and
Madeleine Sutro winning 7-5 at No. 2. The duo of
Jade Vadeboncoeur and
Sabrina Cheung completed the sweep and earned IC the doubles point by defeating Ashley Bonilla/Lily Goodemote, 6-1.
The top two singles matches would go into extras with Daemen's Marley Conover taking the win at No. 1 before
Madeleine Sutro reacted at No. 2 and would defeat Stephanie Baier by set scores of 5-7, 6-4 and 1-0 (10-7).
Aenessa Rylski and
Martina Nicora would also win three-setters by prevailing in the third 10-7 and 10-3, respectively. The final IC win was recorded by first year
Kyra Terman who downed Lily Goodemote by set scores of 6-2, 2-6 and 1-0 (10-6).
The Bombers will enter the spring at 2-0 overall and will take on Drew University on Saturday, February 7 on the road at 10 a.m.
