ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The No. 19-ranked Ithaca College volleyball team was firing on all cylinders Wednesday evening, sweeping RIT in straight sets (25–15, 25–15, 25–20) on the road. The Bombers were dominant offensively, racking up 39 kills, including a match-best 15 in the second set. With the win, Ithaca improves to 11–3 overall and remains unbeaten in Liberty League play at 3–0.
The Bombers opened the first set with a 7–3 run, capped by a
Wesley Slavin assist on a
Gabriela Gonzalez-Abreu kill. RIT briefly closed the gap, but Ithaca regained control behind a pair of aces from Slavin and a kill from
Brianna Owen to make it 12–7. IC reached the 20-point mark with a stretch that included back-to-back kills from
Naomi Clauhs, and Owen sealed the set with a final swing.
Ithaca matched its first-set score in the second, pulling away late after holding a narrow 15–12 lead. The Bombers closed the frame on a 10–3 run, including the final five points in a row.
RIT came out strong in the third set, jumping to a 5–0 lead. But Ithaca quickly responded, with
Amaya Parnell assisting on three consecutive Gonzalez-Abreu kills to take a 6–5 lead. The Tigers briefly regained the advantage before IC mounted another rally. The Bombers tied the set at 16 and again at 20–20 before closing it out with a strong finish.

Ella Graper and
Brianna Owen were forces at the net, each recording four blocks. Graper connected on five of her 12 swing attempts, while Clauhs led all players with 13 kills, hitting .278 for the match.
Next up, Ithaca returns home to host Hartwick College on Wednesday, October 7. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
