WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Ithaca College women's soccer team (5-0-2) traveled to Williamsport, Pennsylvania, to take on Lycoming College (7-1-0) and dominated the Warriors, winning 6-0 with six different goal scorers. With this win, the Bombers remain unbeaten.
In the first 30 minutes, Ithaca came out strong, recording six shots on goal and eight total shots. Ally Stanton opened the scoring, putting the Bombers up 1-0. Ithaca's defense was solid, allowing only one shot on target throughout the first half.
By halftime, Ithaca had 11 shots, eight on goal, six corners, and Grace Hickey made a save. Despite Ithaca's eight shots on goal, Lycoming's goalkeeper Mia Pollack performed admirably with seven saves. Ally Stanton's goal was the only one of the half, leaving the Warriors scoreless with just one shot on goal.
The Bombers continued their dominance in the second half, with six shots on goal and two quick goals from Lilyana Baldi and Sarah Sinnott within five minutes of each other, extending the lead to 3-0. Lycoming struggled to create opportunities, managing only two shots in the first 20 minutes of the half.
Ithaca added two more goals from Lily Fusco and Rachel Hersch, making it 5-0 with 20 minutes remaining. Meaghan Baggoo scored the final goal, her first collegiate goal, securing a 6-0 victory.
Ithaca finished the game with impressive stats: six goals, four assists, 26 shots, 19 shots on goal, and nine corners. Lycoming managed only one shot on goal for the entire game.
The Bombers will face nationally ranked No. 7 University of Rochester next Friday at 3 p.m. on Carp Wood Field. This will be their final non-conference game before moving into Liberty League action.
