ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team hosted SUNY Oneonta on Monday afternoon and picked up a big non-conference win on Monday afternoon as they downed the Red Dragon by an 8-1 score. The Bombers were able to sweep doubles action and nearly did the same in singles, but nonetheless improved to 6-8 on the season.
 
Ithaca was able to score victories in each doubles match, beginning with 
Max Sobel and 
David Lubell teaming up in the No. 3 slot to score an 8-1 victory. In the No. 1 slot 
Gijs Fidler and 
Emiliano Pedrero took down August LePique and Wlliam Schmid by an 8-5 score. Also scoring a win for IC was 
Nicolas Luis and 
Jacob Wachs who won their matchup by an 8-3 final.
 
Reigning Liberty League Singles Player of the Week 
Nicolas Luis had a big-time match with August LePigque as he won the first set 6-2, dropped the second 6-7 (5-7) and outlasted his opponent to win 1-0 (10-4). 
Gijs Fidler took down William Schmid as he woon 6-2, 6-3. In the No. 3 slot 
Siddharth Vaada won 6-1, 6-4 and 
Carlos Hernandez took down Brayden Stuart 6-1, 6-2. The final Bombers victory was recorded by 
Daniel Borenius as he bested Zachary Blaakman 8-4.
 
Next up, the Bombers will host Vassar College at 10 a.m. on Saturday April 13.
