SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team was back in action on Saturday afternoon and the Bombers earned their second Liberty League win of the week, this time defeating Union College by a 6-3 score. With the win, the Bombers improved to 5-8 overall and 2-3 within the Liberty League.
The Bombers were able to take two out of the three doubles matches with the duo of
Nicolas Luis and
Siddharth Vaada scored the first win at No. 2 doubles. They defeated Solen Bellemare and Keita Fukushima by an 8-6 score.
Eric Dubilirer and
Jacob Wachs were tested in the third slot as they went back and forth before prevailing 8-6.
Luis was able to earn his second win of the day, this time at No. 1 singles he took down Ben Jacobs 6-3, 7-6 (7-3). The Bombers also saw
Gijs Fidler score a victory as he took down Dimitris Binopoulos by set scores of 6-4, 7-5.
Siddharth Vaada was able to clinch the win for the Bombers as he defeated Keita Fukushima 6-2, 6-3. Also scoring a win for IC was
Emiliano Pedrero who took down Solen Bellemare 6-4, 6-3.
Ithaca College will return to action on Monday, April 8 at 4 p.m. in a non-conference matchup against SUNY Oneonta.
