Leyner Tosses Complete Game, Fabbo Reaches 200 Hits in 3-1 Win at RIT

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Ithaca College baseball team was matched in a pitchers' duel against RIT that ended with the Bombers coming away with a 3-1 victory to open a three-game series with the Tigers. IC's victory was highlighted by a complete game from Colin Leyner and Louis Fabbo, who became the sixth player in program history to record 200 hits. The Bombers are now 15-4 on the season and 6-0 in the Liberty League.

Ithaca and RIT matched zeros through the first four innings until a solo home run for the Tigers to put them up 1-0 in the fifth inning.

The Bombers were finally able to crack into the run column in the eighth inning as Ryan Lauhscher roped an RBI single to tie the game 1-1.

RIT suffered a costly error in the ninth inning that gave the Bombers a 2-1 lead, which was followed by a Fabbo line drive RBI single for the final run of the game. That single by Fabbo gave him 200 for his career.

The Bombers' ace Leyner put the team on his back with a complete game performance where he struck out seven batters. Two of his strikeouts came as the final two outs of the game as Leyner secured his fifth win of the season. Over his past three starts, Leyner has struck out 26 batters over 23.0 innings pitched and has allowed just three earned runs.

IC is set to face off in a doubleheader against RIT tomorrow starting at 1 p.m.
