ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team returned to action on Wednesday evening as they battled the RIT Tigers inside Glazer Arena. The Bombers picked up a big Liberty League win as they bested the Tigers 8-1 and with the victory improved to 4-8 overall on the season.
The Bombers took two out of the three doubles matches as the first victory came at No. 2 doubles with
Nicolas Luis and
Siddharth Vaada teamed up and took down Christian Berko and Luke Weber by an 8-6 score.
Jacob Wachs and
Eric Dubilirer were tested in the No. 3 slot, but they came out on top taking down the Tigers duo 8-7 (7-3).
Ithaca was able to sweep singles action winning each match as tonight it was
Nicolas Luis who led the charge as in the No. 1 slot, he took down Grahith Movva 6-0, 6-2.
Gijs Fidler won by retirement in the second set and
Siddharth Vaada went back-and-forth against Joel Pho besting him 2-6, 6-0, 6-3.
Also scoring victories for the Bombers were
Carlos Hernandez who took down Max Chang, 7-6 (7-3) and 6-1.
Emiliano Pedrero followed suit scoring a 6-1, 6-4 win and
Eric Dubilirer bested Anthony Lounder (6-3, 6-3).
IC will return to action with another Liberty League matchup slated on Saturday, April 6 as they will take on Union College on the road with a 10 a.m. start time.
