BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Ithaca College baseball team improved to 22-9 on the season with an 11-3 non-conference win at Brockport on Wednesday afternoon. The 11 runs scored are the second-most IC has plated against Brockport in 26 all-time meetings.
Logan Scully had a breakout performance for the Bombers, as he went 2-for-5 at the dish with two home runs. Scully's first blast was a three-run shot in IC's seven-run fourth inning and then the drilled a two-run homer in the seventh.
With the game tied at 1-1 heading to the fourth, IC scored seven runs to break the game open.
Colin Shashaty drove in the first run of the inning on an RBI single to bring in
Louis Fabbo.
Matt Curtis then drove home Shashaty and
Camden Laney with a base hit to set up the first Scully homer.
Riley Brawdy followed Scully with a solo shot to cap off the inning.
Brockport got a run back in the sixth, but the Bombers answered with three runs in the seventh to make it 11-2.
Collin Feeney ripped an RBI double to score Curits and Scully drilled his second homer of the game in the next at bat.
Feeney notched three doubles in the win, while Curtis and Fabbo each had two hits. Fabbo also stole two bases and Feeney swiped one.
Trevor Greene started on the mound for Ithaca and went 2.0 innings with two strikeouts and one earned run.
John Griffin earned the win in 3.0 hitless innings of relief, while
Dan Kellachan and
Ben Landis both tossed 2.0 innings to finish out the game.
Ithaca closes out its Liberty League schedule this weekend with three game against Hobart on Friday and Saturday.
