No. 13 Women’s Lacrosse Continues to Roll with 18-3 Win over Vassar

ITHACA, N.Y.- The dominance of the nationally ranked No. 13 Ithaca College women's lacrosse team continued Friday afternoon with an impressive 18-3 win over Vassar College at Higgins Stadium. The win improves the Bombers' record to 12-1 overall with a perfect 8-0 record in conference play, while Vassar fell to 3-9 overall with a 2-5 conference record.

This one was all Bombers from the start as this game would mark the third consecutive contest in which the Bombers held opponents to five or fewer goals. Maizy Veitch scored her 34th goal of the season just 42 seconds in and a quick response from Sydney Phillips made it 2-0 Ithaca early in the first quarter. Kali Ringler was able to cut the Bombers' lead in half as she scored for the Brewers making it a 2-1 game. Leigh Naturale and Caroline Wise padded the Bombers lead at the end of the first quarter to make it a 4-1 game.

The second quarter was an offensive onslaught for the Bombers as they found their groove and netted nine straight before halftime. They were out-hustling and simply outplaying Vassar all game, but the second quarter is where the sparks really started to fly. Everyone got themselves on the scoresheet and Ithaca was up 13-1 at halftime.

After Ithaca made it 16-1, the Brewers scored two of their own thanks to some impressive displays of offense from Tess Billings and Kali Ringler. The score was 16-3 heading into the second quarter.

Lily Cody and Wise added two more tallies in the fourth as Ithaca cruised to yet another Liberty League win with this game ending 18-3. Five Bombers had multi-point afternoons with Wise and Veitch leading the way with six and five points, respectively. Lexi Held continued her dominance between the pipes as she made seven saves while only allowing three goals. Jocelyn Cote made five saves in the fourth quarter in her first appearance of the season.

Phillips tallied a hat trick, while Leigh Naturale and each scored twice. Lexi Kellish, Chloe Nordyke, Elizabeth Green and Julianna Esposito also got on the score sheet.

The Bombers' next game will be on Saturday, April 20th at 2 pm when they take on Bard College for Senior Day at Higgins Stadium.
