ORLANDO, Fla. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team took on an NCAA Division I opponent in Lafayette College, so doubles were worth one point with whichever team winning two out three getting the point. The Bombers dropped all three of the doubles matchups but did score two points in two of the singles matches as they fell 5-2 to the Leopards on Friday.
The first win of the day for Ithaca came at No. 2 singles where
Gijs Fidler was able to defeat Lafayette's Nick McKenzie. Fidler took the first set 6-3 but fell 2-6 in the second before winning the tiebreaker by a 10-6 score.
Siddharth Vaada was able to follow suit winning his match over Jake Magnusson at No. 3 singles as he handled his opponent 6-3. 6-1.
Friday's loss drops the Bombers overall record to 3-6 and they'll return home for a Liberty League matchup against RPI at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 24.
