ORLANDO, Fla. – The Ithaca College women's tennis team competed against Trinity College (Conn.) in the midpoint of its spring break trip as the Bombers collected two points in doubles play but ended up falling to Trinity by a 6-3 score on Tuesday morning.
In singles action, the Bombers saw their lone point scored by first year
Alys Pop. She was able to win at No. 2 singles besting the Bantams Angelina Shyltsyna by scores of 4-6, 6-3 and 11-9 in the third and final set. Pop was also apart of the duo that took down Josephine Kimball/Angelina Shyltsyna. Pop teamed up with
Taylor Crain as they took down the Trinity pair by a score of 8-3.
The other point on Tuesday for Ithaca came at No. 3 doubles with
Ava Casell-Lapetina and
Maddie Sutro teaming up for the victory. The IC duo went against Elise Brennan and Naisha Rathi and were able to secure the 8-5 win.
Next up, Ithaca College (3-3) will have Wednesday off before returning to action on Thursday, March 14 against Springfield College where they'll compete on the USTA National Campus at 10 a.m.
