Ithaca Men’s Lacrosse Dominate Lycoming on Wednesday

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Ithaca men's lacrosse team dominated from start to finish on Wednesday evening as they ended up besting Lycoming College 24-2. The Bombers saw 14 different goal scorers including outstanding performances turned in by Peter Nowlan who led the way with four goals, Charlie Niebuhr, John Sramac and Sam Baker each scored a hat trick, respectively as well in the winning effort.

The Bombers got off to a big start as they rattled off seven-straight goals within the opening 12 minutes of the game. Jack Pastore assisted on a Charlie Niebuhr effort and Sramac made it 2-0 at the 11:58 mark of the quarter with an unassisted goal. Baker and Niebuhr each scored again with Baker completing his hat trick in the first quarter with his third goal that was assisted with a nice feed by Kyle Proctor putting Ithaca up 7-0 with 3:31 left. IC added two more goals with Danny Loss and Sekou Ibrahima each tallying efforts that saw IC leading 9-0.

Ithaca scored eight more goals within the second period including a last second effort that was assisted by Kyle Proctor and netted by Brendan Occhino just before time expired before the halftime break. The Bombers carried a 19-0 lead into the break with Cole Carrigan making three first half saves with IC outshooting Lycoming by a 32-5 margin.

Corrigan got the win as the IC saw Charlie Paras make two saves, Andrew Minard stopped a shot in his nine plus minutes in front of net and Jameson Wong preserved the effort making four saves in the final 16:46. The Bombers saw two goals netted in the third quarter with Leo Medina Lopez and Andrew Benjamin getting on the scoreboard.

The Bombers outscored Lycoming 5-2 during the final 15 minutes of play. With the win, Ithaca improves to 2-0 and will continue its non-conference slate at SUNY Geneseo at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 2.
