ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Ithaca College women's basketball team was defeated by the University of Rochester Yellow Jackets 92-42 on Tuesday night.
Ithaca got off to a rough start on the offensive end as it took them nearly five minutes to make their first basket, which was knocked down by
Emma Waite, leaving them trailing 6-2. The Bombers struggles offensively continued for the remainder of the first quarter; they finished the quarter 2-for-16 from field goal range, 0-for-3 from beyond the arc, and were just 1-for-2 from the free throw line.
The slow start for Ithaca continued through the beginning of the second quarter as the Yellow Jackets scored the first eight points of the period to extend their lead 23-5. The Bombers came alive midway through the quarter, scoring seven points in a two-minute span. However, the Yellow Jackets were able to close out the half on a 16-1 run.
Trailing 44-15 to start the second half, the Bombers found some offensive life over the course of the opening five minutes. The Bombers scored 14 points, but they were still outscored in that time frame by two. The Yellow Jackets then pushed their lead to over 40 points to end the quarter by dominating the closing minutes as they netted 17 of the quarter's final 22 points.
Rochester outscored IC 15-6 in the fourth quarter to record the 92-42 victory as the 50-point margin was the largest margin between these two teams in their history. The Bombers did not have an answer for Abby Gress of the Yellow Jackets, as she scored 30 points.

Zoraida Icabalceta,
Anya Watkins and
Madison Gill each finishing with seven points apiece.
