NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. - The No. 22 ranked Ithaca College volleyball team took on No.21 ranked Trinity University (Texas) today hosted on the campus of New York University. The Bombers rallied all four sets, and ultimately came away with the win. Ithaca showcased its dominance with set scores 25-20, 22-25, 23-25, 25-20. This is the team's tenth win, bringing their record to 10-2 overall.
 
The first set started off strong with a 4-1 lead over Trinity (TX). The Bombers battled, going point for point, ultimately ending the set with a 3-0 run ended with a kill by Anaya Prince assisted by Wesley Slavin for a 25-20 score.
 
In the second set, the Bombers continued to show their grit, battling for the first couple points. After staying within one, the Bombers were able to gain a lead of 10-5, all with Peyton Miller at the service line. The set closed out with a 3-0 run for Ithaca bringing the score to 25-22.
 
Ithaca was tested in the third set, still battling for points the entire set. The Bombers were able to keep Trinity within a couple of points, ending in a 25-23 set loss. But Ithaca wasn't done yet.
 
The four-set energy was unmatched, and Ithaca was able to come out with fire. The match ended with an impressive attack by Gabriela Gonzalez-Abreu assisted by Wesley Slavin for an exciting 25-20 ending. Wesley Slavin obtained an impressive career-high 58 assists.
 
Ithaca's Naomi Clauhs led the team with 20 kills, closely followed by Gabriela Gonzalez-Abreu with 19 kills. The Bombers defense excelled, led by Ellie Benedict with 29 digs. Gabriela Gonzalez-Abreu followed with 22 digs. The serving also excelled this game led by Peyton Miller with five aces, with Wesley Slavin and Benedict both contributing one ace each.


 
Next up, the Bombers will continue at the NYU Invitational on Saturday, October 5 and will take on Smith College at 1 p.m. and No. 20 New York University at 3:30 p.m. in another highly anticipated matchup.
