ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's track & field team narrowly missed out on a Liberty League title on Saturday after the University of Rochester as the Bombers were beaten out by the host Yellowjackets by just 3.5 points, 223.5 to 220. Rochester is now the two-time defending Liberty League champions for the outdoor season.
Logan Bruce was named Field Performer of the Meet at the conclusion of Saturday. Bruce finished second in the high jump at 1.58 meters and fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 11.18 meters, to go along with her performances from Friday.
Bruce won the 100-meter hurdles in a conference, facility, meet and school record time of 13.93 seconds. Bruce broke IC's previous record of 14.10 seconds set back in 2011 by Emma Dewart as she now ranks eighth in Division III. She also placed second in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:05.08 and was fourth in the 100-meter dash in 12.53 seconds.
Paloma De Monte won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:17.69 and was the runner-up in the 1500-meter run at 4:40.39.
Charly Slusser was the high jump champion at 1.63 meters, while
Lily Seyfert was the runner-up in the discus at 38.74 meters.
Moriah Byrd was the runner-up in the heptathlon with 4223 points and
Cecelia LaBonte finished in fourth at 3692 points. LaBonte also placed third in the high jump at 1.53 meters.
The Bombers' 4x400-meter relay team which consisted of
Natalie MacArthur,
Katharine Downey,
Devan Adegbile and
Emily Johnson were second place overall in 4:05.39.
Ithaca's 4x100-meter relay of
Ayenaliz Velasquez, LaBonte,
Luca Pecora and MacArthur picked up a third place finish in 50.13 seconds.
Byrd claimed third in the shot put with a mark of 11.90 meters and Seyfert followed in fourth at 11.84 meters. Pecora finished fifth in the triple jump in a showing of 11.07 meters.
Johnson secured fifth in the 800 at 2:23.36, while Pecora placed fifth in the 400 hurdles in 1:08.10.
Rachel Larson finished sixth in the 100 hurdles in a time of 15.70 seconds.
MacArthur and Downey placed sixth and seventh in the 400-meter dash with times of 58.90 seconds and 1:00.87.
Rachel Rose finished in seventh in the 800 at 2:26.03 and
Ava Fowler was seventh in the 5000-meter run in 18:17.86.
