ALL-AMERICAN! Seyfert Places Fifth in Shot Put

LA CROSSE, Wis. –
Ithaca College graduate student Lily Seyfert claimed her third career All-America honor, and first podium showing, at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at Wisconsin-La Crosse. Ithaca was tied for 15th in team scoring at the conclusion of the shot put with four points.

Seyfert finished fifth overall in the shot put with a personal best mark of 14.10 meters (46' 3.25"), which occurred on her final attempt of the championship, toseyfert podium 2026 AA become the 165th All-American in women's track & field history (81st during outdoor). Seyfert earned a pair of USTFCCCA Second Team All-America honors at this year's indoor championships after finishing ninth in the weight throw and 15th in the shot put.

The Wyomissing, Pa. native was the last competitor to step into the circle during the preliminary round and needed just one throw to all but secure her place in the final as she measured out 14.00 meters. The top mark of the first flight was 13.75 meters, and the path to the final became even clearer for Seyfert as half of the second flight could not top 13.75 meters.

At the conclusion of three throws, Seyfert sat in fourth place, officially solidifying her spot on the podium. After attempts of 13.16 and 13.74 on throws four and five, Seyfert unleashed the best shot put of her career on her final throw as a Bomber.

Rachel Larson was also in action on Friday in the 100-meter hurdles prelim and qualified for tomorrow's final by winning the first heat in a time of 13.99 seconds. Larson will be seeded fifth in the final on Saturday, which goes off at 2:50 p.m., as she will run for her fourth All-America honor.

On Thursday, Talia Hutchinson was in action in the pole vault and finished 19th nationally with a clearance of 3.60 meters.
