UTICA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's track & field team competed in its final meet of the season before regionals and the NCAA Division III Championships on Sunday at the Utica CNY Fast Chance Meet.
Meghan Matheny turned in the best performance of her career as she set a new personal record in the pole vault and moved into a tie for first in Division III with a mark of 4.06 meters (13' 3.75"). Matheny also set a facility record with her mark.
Natalie MacArthur was the runner-up on the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.96 seconds, while
Ayenaliz Velasquez took fourth in 13.13 seconds.
Sara Brown placed third in the long jump at 5.36 meters.
Four other Bombers placed in the top six in the pole vault as
Kennedey Heichel cleared 3.76 meters to move up to 17th in Division II as she finished in third.
Martha Kemp-Neilson cleared 3.71 meters to finish fourth, while
Jamie Rossig and
Bree Boyle tied for sixth at 3.26 meters.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Velasquez, MacArthur,
Cecelia LaBonte and
Jordyn Dolan finished fourth in 50.97 seconds.
Emily Johnson took fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.95, while
Katharine Downey claimed sixth in the 400-meter dash in 1:02.00.
Luca Pecora was another sixth place finisher in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.09.
Charly Slusser finished eighth in the high jump at 1.48 meters.
