CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Ithaca College women's track & field team put together a solid meet at the SUNY Cortland Red Dragon Open on Saturday, as the Bombers earned seven first place finishes on the day.
Logan Bruce won the 100-meter hurdles against a Division I heavy field as she beat out four entries from Syracuse with a time of 14.20 seconds. Bruce also finished third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.80 seconds. She would also win the long jump at 5.77 meters (18' 11.25").
Meredith Garrity won the 5000-meter run in a time of 18:53.62.
Kyla Eisman was another first place performer for IC as she won the steeplechase in 11:50.78.
Ithaca took the top three spots in the javelin as
Lily Seyfert led the way with a first place mark of 36.40 meters (119' 5").
Arla Davis finished second at 30.94 meters (101' 6") and Bruce came in third with a mark of 29.32 meters (96' 2").
Meghan Matheny was first in the pole vault at 3.72 meters (12' 2.5"), while
Kennedey Heichel took second with a mark of 3.30 meters (10' 10").
Jamie Rossig and
Bree Boyle each cleared 3.00 meters (9' 10") to finish in fourth and fifth.
Luca Pecora was first in the triple jump with a mark of 10.66 meters (34' 11.75").
Charly Slusser cleared 1.55 meters (5' 1") in the high jump to finish in second place overall.
IC's 4x400-meter relay of
Katharine Downey,
Rachel Rose,
Giana Haubrich and
Emily Johnson won with a time of 4:10.30. The 'B' 4x400 of Bruce,
Tessa Stanley,
Madison Martinez and
Hannah Martinez finished fourth in 4:34.32.
Ithaca's 4x100-meter relay of
Ayenaliz Velasquez, Bruce,
Luca Pecora and
Milla Gonzalez placed second with a time of 49.97.
Devan Adegbile was the runner-up in the 400-meter dash at 1:02.27, while Rose finished third in 1:02.82.
Natalie MacArthur took fourth in the 200 at 27.14 seconds.
Seyfert also finished fourth in the shot put with a mark of 10.82 meters (35' 6").
Moriah Byrd jumped 5.01 meters (16' 5.25") in the long jump to finish fourth.
Haubrich secured sixth in the 400 at 1:04.87, while
Rachel Larson placed seventh in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.21 seconds.
Ashanti Stanley was fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 9.88 meters (32' 5").
Downey finished in seventh place in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:29.31, while
Carolina Cedraschi finished eighth in the 400 at 1:08.02 and Logan Brassacchio was eighth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:15.63.
Byrd was a seventh place finisher in the 200 at 27.57 and Adegbile was eighth in 27.64.
Soncerae Hamiter took eighth in the hammer throw at 36.11 meters (118' 5"). Byrd also competed in the high jump and was eighth at 1.35 meters (4' 5").
Cecelia LaBonte was eighth in the long jump at 4.65 meters (15' 3.25").
