The Engineers scored with a goal from Mazzella, but the Bombers got it back shortly after with a goal from Gillam, his first as a Bomber. However, the offense dried up and couldn't get any closer, as RPI scored the dagger with 4:31 left to go up 13–8. Each team got one more goal, as Brumfield scored for the Bombers and Cooper Manzi for RPI, and the Bombers lost 14–9.
Offensively, RPI outshot Ithaca 48–37 and led in shots on goal 28–19. Defensively, the Engineers held the statistical advantage as well, leading 7–6 in caused turnovers, 19–8 in faceoffs, and 38–21 in ground balls.
