ITHACA, N.Y. – On the heels of an impressive week on the diamond, Ithaca College's
Collin Feeney was named the Liberty League Performer of the Week for the sport of baseball while the women's rowing first varsity crew took home Boat of the Week honors during the week of April 17-23. In addition, threeIC student-athletes were also recognized on conference office's Honor Roll.
Baseball Performer of the Week- Collin Feeney
Collin Feeney hit .611 (11-for-18) with seven runs, four RBI, three doubles and two stolen bases in a 3-1 week for Ithaca. Feeney started the week with a 2-for-4 game with two runs, one RBI and two walks against Oswego. He then went 9-for-14 in a three-game series at Clarkson with three doubles, five runs and three RBI. Since entering the starting lineup on April 12, Feeney has produced 20 hits in seven games.
Women's Rowing Boat of the Week- Ithaca Varsity Eight
Ithaca faced off against WPI, Trinity, Clark, Connecticut College, and Colby. The Bombers secured a first-place finish with a final time of 7:00.1, edging out WPI by just about a second. Trinity took third place in the race and finished just about six seconds behind the Bombers. The crew had one of their best pieces despite the tough racing conditions.
HONOR ROLL
Nathaniel Oczkowski set a new school record in the 110-meter hurdles in a runner-up finish with a time of 14.65 seconds at the Moravian Coach P Open on Saturday. Oczkowski also ran a leg on the 4x100-meter relay that took second overall in 42.52 seconds.
Kennedey Heichel won the pole vault with a personal best mark of 3.55 meters at the Moravian Coach P Open.
Ryan LaForty had an outstanding week in goal, making 24 total saves against both SUNY Cortland and No. 14 Union College. LaForty made a season-high 19 saves on 49 shots faced against the Dutchmen on Saturday, which turned out to be a 10-9 overtime loss.
